Ashley Davis, LPC
It can be a real challenge to connect with a counselor who truly “gets it” when it comes to narcissistic relationship dynamics, emotional abuse, and the legacy of loneliness that accompanies childhood abuse and neglect.
I am a certified Narcissistic Abuse Clinician, and a trained EMDR therapist. My approach is rooted in trauma informed, attachment informed, and antagonism informed care, which means:
I will be curious about how your present day experiences in relationship may be impacted by the quality of connection your early important relationships, and the context you grew up in (as well as your family history).
I will believe you, and validate your experiences of antagonism, narcissism, and other forms of relational trauma.
I will invite you to notice the emotions and sensations that you experience in your body, and teach you practices to help your nervous system settle.
When you’re feeling ready to process relational trauma, I can guide you through reprocessing with EMDR, a body based approach that channels our brain’s natural ability to heal and grow.
My approach is gentle, warm, and empathic.
Because relational trauma happens in the context of important relationships, I take intentional care to help you track your experiences in our therapeutic relationship. With curiosity and compassion, we can use these observations to help you create more safety and capacity for connection in your other important relationships.
Knowledge enhances our ability to understand what belongs to us, and what is beyond our capacity to change.
It also helps us to practice compassion and validation with ourselves. I’m passionate about providing resources and education to clients, so that you can be empowered to make decisions in your important relationships that honor your needs.
